Who doesn't love the Muppets? The Muppets are universal and appeal to all ages , cultures and backgrounds. When I saw that the folks at disney were releasing a Muppets tribute album right before their big screen return of those fuzzy characters, I scream with joy (on the inside). The tribute album will feature band such as Sondre Lerche, The Airborne Toxic Event, Weezer, Andrew Bird and others covering classic Muppets songs from their classic filmograhy and TV specials.
The Green Album will be released on August 23, but you can get a taste of it with My Morning Jacket's cover of "Our World." The original came from 1977 Muppets Christmas special Emmet Otter’s Jug-Band Christmas, which you can watch below.
