Jim Wasley, Professor of Architecture at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, and Director of the Institute of Ecological Design wants to change the landscape of the inner harbor; that is, the area at the very eastern end of Greenfield Avenue. Working with students at UWM's School of Architecture, Jim's various projects include redevelopment of the inner harbor of Lake Michigan (part of the Inner Harbor Project) and storm water management.
Jim provided me a tour of the School of Freshwater Science, located at the "mouth" of the inner harbor, and he pointed out the various areas that will undergo this ecological transformation..
