Once in a while on Rhythm Lab Radio, we find an artist that gives us shivers. 22 year old South Londoner Lianne La Havas is such an artist. Some have called Lianne La Havas a young and softer voice version of Erkyah Badu. Her songs are soulful and haunting and will touch every part of your being.
The blogosphere has been showing her love for some time now including the popular video blogs Black Cab Sessions and Blogothèque. Then she release the amazing urban hymn "No Room For Doubt" featuring American artist Willy Mason, which created even more buzz for the artist. She ended up opening for Bon Iver on the UK show Later With Jools Holland. The audience was in awe of her songs and voice. Even blew Justin Vernon of bon Iver away that he gave Lianne a round of applause during her soundcheck. This led Vernon to invite Lianne to open for Bon Iver on his tour in December, which includes stops in Chicago, Madison, and Eau Claire.
She recently released her EP "Lost and Found," which is available now via iTunes. You can actually grab a free live EP of her performing in Los Angeles via her website. Lianne La Havas is this week's 'Rhythm Lab Artist of The Week.'
