Wow! Another amazing week in Milwaukee and a busy one for Sound Travels with the special Thanksgiving show at The Nomad on Wednesday last and on into the weekend for our normal niceness at the selfsame Nomad World Pub. Amazing crowds on both nights as the DJ's and I packed the house for both shows. All props to DJ's Avets, JDL, Kid Cut Up and 88Nine's own Jordan Lee (aka Madhatter) for bringing their amazing selves down with ever more amazing cuts.
Sunday saw the return of Kid CutUp from his new home in L.A.; I had to send the invite to his and my own buddy and busy man Jordan Lee to take some time out of his schedule to throw a set down at the spot. Funk was a-flowing and bodies were in collision on a dancefloor that only got hotter as the night went on. One of my favorite parts about Sundays at The Nomad is the warm-up session I get to play on the radio and Sunday's set was well-rested and fresh with music from aaaaaaaaall over. From reggae to cumbia to Balkan beats and hip hop rolled up in Bollywood beats and latin rhythms, tongues twisting and rhyming on relentless rhythms. Miss the set?
