JImmy Castor Breaks

Last week, we lost an important founding father of Hip Hop music.

Jimmy Castor was a singer, saxophonist, percussionist and songwritter. He was often sampled for hip-hop records in the 80s and 90s.  He died of cardiac arrest Jan. 16 in a hospital in Henderson, Nev. He was 71.

He legacy with Hip Hop has kept his music alive much stronger than it may have been without.

Many artist have sampled Jimmy's work, including on of my favorite 2 LIVE CREW tracks, "Get Loose".

If those horns sound familiar to you, it's The Jimmy Castor Bunch track "It's Just Begun".
