My Milwaukee Film Festival PIcks For Day 5: Brooklyn Castle & I Want My Name Back

It is day 5 of the Milwaukee Film Festival, and I have two picks for you this evening.

Brooklyn Castle - 7:15pm at The Oriental
The first pick is a film I saw at SXSW called Brooklyn Castle.  Brooklyn Castle tells story of I.S. 318's Chess Team in Brooklyn and their challenges of keeping their program because of reduced funding.

"BROOKLYN CASTLE tells the stories of five members of the chess team at a below-the-poverty-line inner city junior high school that has won more national championships than any other in the country. The film follows the challenges these kids face in their personal lives as well as on the chessboard, and is as much about the sting of their losses as it is about the anticipation of their victories."

Check out my video from the Brooklyn Castle Chess Party after it debuted down at SXSW.

I Want My Name Back - 9:15pm @ The Oriental
This film is not only about the legendary Sugar Hill Gang, but about trademarks and idenity theft. It tells the story of the groups jourey to reclaim their names.
