All this week on the Seven O'Clock Sample, we have been exploring the music of Bob Marley and the Wailers. The Tuff Gong record label was formed by The Wailers in 1965 and named after Bob Marley's nickname, which was in turn an echo of that given to founder of the Rastafari movement, Leonard "The Gong" Howell.
In 1976, Tuff Gong released the album RASTAMAN VIBRATION, which contained the song "Johnny Was".
This song was sampled by (hed)PE on the song "Otherside". Listen closely to the sample at 0:07.
