I’m all ready for our field trip to Lollapalooza. I even have my 88Nine raincoat so if it rains, I’m drenched in style.
It’s been a few years since my once-in-a-lifetime experience at Lolla. It was sweaty, it was dirty and it was awesome. I have a lot of great memories, but I also remember what a pain it was running from Monroe Street to Blabo Avenue trying to maximize my time (and justify the $200 I spent on a three day pass).
After hearing I’d be back this year, I immediately hit up my google cal to form the ultimate schedule for myself.
Friday's lineup shows no mercy for those who are still at work. August 2 is jam packed.
Here’s a quick list of a few acts I want to see today:
Emelie Sande
The kind of ballads that I’ll either cry or groove to, maybe a little of both.
Father John Misty
The perfect festival sound. Nothing better than listening to folk jams with thousands of swaying bodies while the mid-day summer sun beats down on you.
Chance the Rapper
Any rapper who rhymes with words like vagabond and metamorphosis has my heart. Plus, this Chicago rapper will have a home field advantage, so I expect him to deliver.

Lana Del Rey
Capping off the night with this nation’s lady while I prance around in my extra large American flag. I call that a good day.
Check back to hear who lived up to expectations and who sent me running for the hills.
