As our city celebrated Milwaukee Day on 4.14.14 (414 is the area code for Milwaukee, see?), life-long Milwaukean Joaquin Altoro proudly celebrated his 40th Birthday. We had him stop by the station for a chat and he shared his story.
We learned his family was among the first Mexicans that came to Milwaukee, how his schooling and respect for the Milwaukee Public School system shaped his view of Milwaukee, and how his position as a Commercial Banker could help some old neighborhoods thrive again.
