This week's download comes from a very talented jazz singer by the name of Zara McFarlane. McFarlane, originally from East London and has Jamaican roots, is one of the UK's rising jazz artists. BBC's DJ Gilles Peterson signed McFarlane to his Brownswood label and release her first album Until Tomorrow in 2011. Until Tomorrow garnered McFarlane a nomination for best Jazz Act for the MOBO Awards in 2012. She even recevied buzz for her amazing rendition of Junior Mervin's classic "Police & Thieves."
In 2014, Zara McFarlane released her sophomore release, also on Brownswood Records, entitled If You Knew Her. The album even received critical praise from New York Times:
