The young professional community in Milwaukee is booming and there's a group of young women looking to give back to the city they call home.
WGirls Milwaukee raises money for local non-profits that provide services to women and children. They volunteer at these organizations throughout the year trying to raise awareness among their peers for these non-profits in need.
"We have fun while giving back," says Rachael Hughes, President of WGirls Milwaukee. "There's a lot going on in Milwaukee, so I think we just figured out the right formula to get people engaged. It's a win-win."
Their latest fundraiser, a Bachelor/Bachelorette auction pulled in the most money they have raised at an event so far. Through this fun night of auctioning Milwaukee's "most eligible singles", WGirls Milwaukee raised $30,000 for Penfield Childrens Center.
WGirls is a national organization that started in New York City. Learn more about them at wgirls.org. Interested in becoming a member of WGirls Milwaukee or starting your own chapter? Information online here and on their Facebook page.
