In the first hour, we highlighted music from artists that were recently nominated for the prestigious Mercury Prize, which is similar to the Grammy's but for UK artists. We featured music from nominees Jungle, FKA twigs, East India Youth and Damon Albarn. We also played brand new music from the New York brass-house sensation Too Many Zooz, who have garnered praise from artists like Questlove. Finally, we featured new from Prince, The Juan MacClean, and Sinkane.
In the second hour, we continue to highlight more nominees of the Mercury Prize including tracks from Nick Mulvey, Kate Tempest, Jazz trio GoGo Penguin, and alt-hip hop group Young Fathers. This week's featured release was SBTRKT's forthcoming album Wonder Where We Land. We also played two new tracks from that album. Finally, we debut new tracks from the hip hop duo Run The Jewels, and Doomtree artist Sims.
