This family-friendly Halloween event is geared towards participants of all ages! Stroll Historic Downer Avenue, where businesses from Park to Webster will be handing out trick-or-treats for both children, adults and pets! Don’t forget, dogs on leashes are welcome to dress up as well!

Downer merchants pull out their best pumpkin carving skills and compete to win your vote. Drop your ballot in our voting cauldron at the Downer BID tent in front of Nehring’s Sendik’s, and be entered to win great gifts from our Downer merchants!!

Plan your route and make the rounds to check out all of the tricks and treats on Downer Avenue!

Join Purple Door in celebrating this autumn season at their October 17th Neighborhood Fall Fest. This event is free of charge and a chance to be in community with our neighbors. Autumn ice cream flavors and specials (for purchase) as well as face painting, kids activities, music, pumpkin decorating (pumpkins for purchase) and trick-or-treating for kids.

The 2nd Street Trick-or-Treating will take place from 3-3:30 on the 17th and includes Trick-or-Treating at 12 businesses along 2nd Street (between Oregon St and Freshwater Way). Kids are encouraged to dress in costume and visit tables outside of the businesses (on the west side of 2nd Street) for candy and also free mini-ice cream cones. Participating businesses include Avenue M Salon, BBJ La Tavola, Black Sheep, Eco MKE, Float, Flowers for Dreams, Indigo, Indulgence Chocolates, Lucy Bakes, Purple Door, Tabletop Bookshelf and Toast

Celebrate Halloween at the Harley-Davidson Museum with the 3rd Annual Trunk or Treat, a free, family-friendly evening of candy, costumes, custom vehicles and community fun. Join Urban Youth Coalition and the Low Rider Community, in partnership with the Harley-Davidson Museum and the City of Milwaukee Office of Community Wellness and Safety, on Friday, October 23, from 5:30–8 p.m. Explore creatively decorated trunks, collect plenty of treats and check out an impressive lineup of low riders, custom Chevys and motorcycles.

The Tosa Farmers Market is a local not-for-profit organization that carefully curates the best, freshest foods in the region, but it’s more than that. It’s a community hub for foodies, cyclists, coffee-lovers, music fans, yogis, kids — and all their neighbors.

For over 10 years, we've been supporting local farmers, food producers and artisans, & creating a more sustainable community. Every week, the market is home to about 45 farmers and food producers, selling a first-class mix of produce, plants, cut flowers, bread and baked goods, award-winning cheese, coffee, waffles, popsicles, fish, meat and poultry, and prepared breakfast and dinner items. The first Saturday of each month, we also add a Makers Market, featuring a juried selection of local artisans selling handmade arts and crafts.

Play Date: Social is a free family gathering at Grant Park's Seven Bridges Trail. Children ages 4 to 10 can complete a picture based fall Trail Hunt and playful connection prompts while parents and caregivers meet other local families. The Trail Hunt leads to a weather dependent beachside Taste the Colors of Fall demonstration with Monica Hidalgo of Eat Pretty Please. Tasting is optional. A parent or caregiver must stay with each child. The trail includes stairs, roots, and uneven ground, so a baby carrier is recommended instead of a stroller. Every adult and child needs a free RSVP. Registered families will receive the exact meeting point, parking guidance, ingredients, and weather plan.

Creative Community Living Services (CCLS) is hosting our annual Dueling Pianos Fundraiser on October 24th in Oconomowoc at Cornerstone Pub & Eatery. Get ready for a night of fun with performers Howl2GO! The night includes good music, hors d’oeuvres, basket raffles, and celebrating CCLS! Proceeds from the event will support our ongoing efforts to provide high-quality services and care for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Wisconsin. Services include assisted living support, transportation assistance, daily living skills training, nursing services, and day service programs.

The Bridgewater will host live music on Sundays with rotating genres serenading patrons on Sundays from 1-4 p.m., starting May 26th until September 2nd.
