Comedy legends Steve Martin and Martin Short have been more connected from a project perspective over the past decade, starting with their “A Very Stupid Conversation” live show back in 2015. They’ve shared the stage on a regular basis since then, a trend that’ll continue when they embark on a new set of shows they’re calling “The Best of Steve Martin & Martin Short.”
That loftily titled tour will come to Milwaukee’s Miller High Life Theatre on Feb. 27, with support from Steve Martin’s frequent collaborators The Steep Canyon Rangers, as well as Martin Short’s musical accompanist Jeff Babko.
The Only Murders in the Building co-stars have a professional and personal connection that spans more than four decades, having met while filming The New Show from producer Lorne Michaels in 1984. They began working together in earnest when they were both cast in 1986’s Three Amigos! and have appeared alongside each other in multiple projects since then, including the Father of the Bride series.
The pair added to their fame in a big way with Only Murders in the Building, which wound up being a major hit for Hulu and returns for its fifth season this Tuesday.
To see “The Best of Steven Martin & Martin Short” (including the stars themselves) at the Miller High Life Theatre on Feb. 27, you can pick up tickets during the presale that starts at noon this Thursday by becoming a Pabst Theater Group eMember. Tickets go on sale to the general public at 10 a.m. the following day online and at the Pabst/Riverside box offices.
