Outside of Summerfest, I’m not a mega-music-festival person. I wish I would’ve taken a crack at one in my younger, childless years, but c’est la vie. Fortunately, the streaming age is here to give us a taste of the festival experience without all the usual stuff that goes along with being there in person.
In the case of Coachella, we get more than a taste. As the festival announced a few weeks ago, they decided to live-stream every artist on every stage both weekends courtesy of a partnership with YouTube. For the first three days this Friday through Sunday, that’s almost 180 acts — a musical buffet that will require a little picking and choosing on your part.
To help you get started, I sifted through the whole roster for weekend one and came up with a list of artists from our stations’ playlist, plus a few personal picks thrown in. You can stream everything by visiting the Coachella YouTube page and clicking on the stage (all times Central).
