Chicagoan Jim has plenty of radio options down south but chooses to listen to 88Nine on the app and our stream. He gave me a reason to employ a compilation CD I've been meaning to use for a while on the Shadow: "20 Explosive Dynamic Super Smash Hit Explosions" put out by Pravda Records in the 90's. It features (mostly) midwestern bands covering (mostly) one-hit wonders from the 70's ("Convoy" anyone?). The Smashing Pumpkins covered "Jackie Blue" before their first album even came out, and mysteriously, their cover has disappeared from subsequent pressings of the compilation linked to above.
