Wave Chapelle drops bars and bars in his 'Friday Freestyle' video

If you haven't been keeping up with Wave Chapelle's recent output, you've got some catching up to do. The Milwaukee rapper has been following up his impressive 2020 album " Waves Don't Die" with a song-a-week project, dropping a new song every seven days and then packaging them into EPs periodically. That's a lot of music.

Today he released a video for one of the standouts from that series so far, a bars-centric track called "Friday Freestyle." There's an unwritten convention in Milwaukee rap that rappers save their best bars for chorus-free tracks titled "No Hook," and "Friday Freestyle" is a "No Hook" track by any other name: an excuse for Wave to show off his cocky flow and abundant punchlines, which the video helpfully illustrates in case you miss them.

You can stream the video below and catch up on Wave's recent projects on Soundcloud.
