I have always been a fan of Anime since I was very young. Lately, it seems that Anime is becoming more popular in the mainstream. Proof of this is the upcoming series, "Neo Yokio" from Vampire Weekend's Ezra Koenig.
Written, created and executive produced by Ezra along with Nick Widenfeld, "Neo Yokio" features voice talents from Jaden Smith, Susan Sarandon, Jude Law, Tavi Gevinson, Jason Schwartzman, and Desus & Mero, along with Richard Ayoade, Ike Barinholtz, Steve Buscemi, Alexa Chung, Stephen Fry, Katy Mixon, Annet Mahendru, Kiernan Shipka, Willow Smith and Amanda Stenberg. According to the press release, "Neo Yokio" is a postmodern collage of homages to classic anime, English literature and modern New York fashion and culture.
All six episode will debut on Netflix on Sep. 22. Check out the trailer below.
