Chicago is the home of house music. So, it makes sense that they should host a house music festival. Today, the city just announced the lineup for theChicago House Music Festival that will take place on May 26 in Millennium Park.
Headlining the festival includes Grammy winner Louie Vega and Elements of Life, Ron Trent, and Paul Johnson. Other performers include Ghetto-House pioneer DJ Deeon, Celeste Alexander, DJ Sabine, Donna Edwards and more. Performances will take place on three stages including the Jay Pritzker Pavilion. The festival is also free to attend.
In addition to the performances, the Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events will host the Chicago House Music Conference on May 24 from 6 p.m. - 9 p.m. and on May 25 from 3 p.m. - 10 p.m. at the Chicago Cultural Center. On the day of the free festival, the House Music Awards will take place on the Jay Pritzker Pavilion from 7:15 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. Plus, there will be a House Music dance workshop from 4 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. in the Dance Studio on May 26.
For the first time at the festival, there will a Vinyl Records Fair on the Chase Promenade Central from 1 p.m. - 8 p.m. Here is the full schedule for the festival:
