The Lumineers return to Milwaukee for an August show at the Amp

The Lumineers / Facebook

The last time the Lumineers played a concert in Milwaukee, it was so astounding that they just had to release a four-song EP. While it was a good show, the release probably had more to do with the date: March 11, 2020, aka the day everything shut down.

This summer, they’ll be back in town, trading the Fiserv Forum for the American Family Insurance Amphitheater and an Aug. 26 show with opener James Bay.

The announcement comes a little more than a year since the release of their most recent album, Brightside, which continued the band’s careful evolution following the completely inescapable “Ho Hey” from back in 2012. Ten years later, they figured out how to pair those deeply singable choruses with deeply felt lyrics on an album that, as the Telegraph’s Neil McCormick said, “may not easily yield its secrets but will keep you singing as you try to work them out.”

Sounds like a good way to spend the time before the general sale for tickets begins at 10 a.m. next Friday, March 10, at Ticketmaster and the American Family Insurance Amphitheater box office.

In addition, there are a couple ways to buy tickets next Monday, March 6. You can either Join the Brightside Tour Club for a presale that starts at 10 a.m. or register for the artist presale that gets underway at noon.
