The Offspring lead a ‘bring the noise’ lineup at AmFam Amp this August

Live Nation

Looking for a night of wistful balladry? Then skip the most recent announcement from the American Family Amphitheater, which will welcome an alt-pop-punk triple bill of the Offspring, Sum 41 and Simple Plan on Aug. 29.

The “Let the Bad Times Roll Tour” continues a pretty cool trend of bands marshaling their collective forces and heading out on the road rather than going it alone separately (see also Weezer’s Indie Rock Road Trip, Jimmy Eat World and Manchester Orchestra, etc.).

"One of the best things about being on tour is traveling the world playing to great audiences, and it's even better when you can do it with your friends,” The Offspring frontman Dexter Holland said in a release. “We had sold-out international tours with Simple Plan and Sum 41, and we're excited that they'll be joining us this summer in America. It's going to be great!”

The tour shares a name with the Offspring’s most-recent album, their 10th studio effort in a career that has racked up more than 40 million albums sold, including 11 million by 1994’s Smash. Simple Plan and Sum 41 are also in the eight figures when it comes to overall album sales, with the former releasing Harder Than It Looks last May and the latter apparently churning away on an eagerly awaited double album titled Heaven and Hell.

The Milwaukee show has a load of presales, as well as a general sale at 10 a.m. this Friday, March 24. You can find all the ticket information at Ticketmaster and pick them up in person at the American Family Insurance Amphitheater box office when they go on sale to the general public Friday.
