Milwaukee’s downtown arena has added another concert to its rapidly filling 2024 calendar, as Greta Van Fleet announced an extension of their Starcatcher World Tour that will include a stop at Fiserv Forum on May 21.
Frequent listeners of the 88Nine playlist will probably be more interested to know that Brooklyn-based Geese will be there in support, having just been in town for their own headlining show in The Back Room earlier this month. The band put out one of the wilder albums of this year when they dropped 3D Country back in June. The LP saw the post-punk outfit get a little — let’s say exploratory, with lead singer Cameron Winter’s delightfully unhinged vocals starring on tracks like “Cowboy Nudes.”
Geese’s sound on the album is reminiscent of a bygone era — something you can also say about the band they’re supporting. Greta Van Fleet came out of the gates drawing comparisons to Led Zeppelin, due in large part to their sounding a whole lot like the rock gods. It’s extremely unfair to extend that comparison from an album quality standpoint, although their latest release, Starcatcher, got a generally favorable reception compared with some of the band’s previous efforts.
Whether you’re showing up for Greta or Geese, your first chance to snag tickets is an artist presale Wednesday, followed by the general public sale that starts at 10 a.m. Friday. You can find more information on all purchasing opportunities at Ticketmaster.
