Exactly four weeks after revealing the first American Family Insurance Amphitheater headliner for Summerfest 2025, festival organizers pulled back the curtain on its neighboring stage and announced The Avett Brothers as the first topline artist for the BMO Pavilion. They’ll play a show the second Thursday, June 26.
The Avett Brothers are repeat visitors to the World’s Largest Music Festival, having headlined the Amp in 2015 and the BMO Pavilion in 2023. They also were part of Willie Nelson’s Outlaw Music Festival that took over the amphitheater in 2019 and played Alpine Valley this past August.
The group comprising brothers Seth and Scott Avett, along with Bob Crawford and Joe Kwon, have been at it since the early 2000s and started picking up speed with 2004’s Mignonette. That was their third studio effort, and they’ve since put out eight more, including three straight Billboard top 10 efforts (The Carpenter in 2012, Magpie and the Dandelion in 2013 and True Sadness in 2016). Most recently, The Avett Brothers shared a self-titled album in May of this year.
Summerfest will use the same seating approach for BMO Pavilion as past years, with reserved tickets available for purchase and free general admission on a first-come-first-served basis the day of the show. The Avett Brothers’ last BMO Pavilion show in 2023 sold out, so you might want to think about the first option if you’re keen on seeing them in 2025.
Those reserved seats (which include admission to the festival the day of the performance) go on sale to the general public at 10 a.m. this Friday, Nov. 15, online and at the Summerfest box office.
