Milwaukee's Living Statues release new single

The Living Statues

Rock n' roll power group, The Living Statues, have a knack for releasing unbelievably catchy tunes right in the heat of summer. Last year's "All My Girls" took the festival scene by storm and this year, the boys are back with another sure-to-be summer hit, "I Never Asked," which premiered today (June 23) on Pancakes and Whiskey.

According to the Statues, "I Never Asked is a darker, brooding track about lust-turned-love. We hope everyone gets into it. We're excited to debut it live at Summerfest on July 2."

You can get into it below.

The track kicks of with a groovy little bass line, courtesy of Alex Thornburg, and then the whole crew hops in. When frontman Tommy Shears begins the first verse, the band quiets - except for that top-notch bass line - as he paints a picture of the addicting, confusing powers of love. The song continues to build and by the third round of the chorus, we're belting along with Shears, "I never asked for your lo-ove."

The Statues may not have asked for our love on this one, but we're giving it anyway.
You can catch The Living Statues opening up for Mayer Hawthorne at Summerfest on Saturday, July 2 on the Uline Warehouse stage.
