Sunday night on Sound Travels I finally had the chance to play a mix I was itching to make.
Full of funky, soulful breaks and majestic, afro-beat inspired horn arrangements. An hour-long mix of music that's difficult to pin down to a particular genre. A class of music I call "cinematic soul," mainly to highlight a quality of the music that led me to make the mix.
These mostly instrumental cuts have a dynamic that makes me feel like I'm in a film of some kind, even if the music isn't exactly from a soundtrack.
The mix, for me, feels like a film-noir action soundtrack. And though the association is fantasy, this one might be perfect for your inner soundtrack...
