Who were the most influential Wisconsin musicians of the last 100 years?

Last year Piet wrote a list of the 25 most impactful Wisconsin musicians. Inspired by feedback from readers that he missed too many great musicians, he's updated and expanded that project with a new list of the 50 most impactful Wisconsin musicians.

The list includes recently deceased musicians like Al Jarreau as well as living legends like Speech, who led the Grammy-winning hip-hop group Arrested Development. He had a huge impact on the development of rap music and continues to be very impactful. He recently released a powerful song responding to the horrors of the Jan. 6 insurrection at the Capitol.

Jidenna made the list, too, even though many people don't know that he was born in Wisconsin Rapids. He scored a big hit with "Classic Man" and continues to do exciting fusions of world music, hip-hop and R&B. You may also be surprised to learn that one of The Go-Go's was born in Wisconsin, as well.

Hear us chat about some of the highlights of the list on this week's episode below.
