Multi-HYFINated LP Giobbi's house set inspires on every level
Every Saturday, In The Mix sets the vibe for Milwaukee from 9 p.m. to 2 a.m. We mix up the hottest sounds from the electronic dance music scene, bringing to the forefront some of the city's most talented DJs and producers as guests on the show. Stream the mixes below, and follow me @djkennyperez.
In The Mix has been going five years strong, so you'd think I'd be content with the amount of artists that come through with such fun DJ sets. But no. I love to bring the city of Milwaukee fresh faces and sounds. Since my last post, the show has gained an additional hour of programming on our airwaves and has been added to HYFIN, 88Nine's sister station.
What a wonderful way to kick off the growth of our new venture: A set from none other than one of the most talented producer-DJ-musician-music directors on the planet, LP Giobbi.
Born in Oregon and now planted in L.A., Leah Chisholm has toured the globe with the likes of Sofi Tukker, Jax Jones, Hotel Garuda, Autograf and more. Not only does she have new music featuring Caroline Byre called "Forever And A Day," Giobbi is also the head of her own nonprofit organization, FEMME HOUSE, alongside co-founder and good friend Lauren A. Spalding.
The organization "fosters more equitable opportunity for women and gender-expansive individuals in the technical and behind-the-scenes areas of music. We are creating the future producers, mixers, engineers, DJs, artists, and executives of the industry by providing education and scholarships, cultivating community, propagating visual representation, and offering professional development opportunities."
