To everyone out there, I’ve missed you so much! I can not wait to get back to live shows that aren’t behind a screen (even though I appreciate the drive to keep playing gigs). The good news is some venues are starting to announce shows, festival lineups are popping up and clubs are getting back in the game in a safe way. All of this is happening slowly of course, but it is happening and that’s a positive. Like many acts, Milwaukee duo Best Friends had to make do without playing live shows in 2020 and the early parts of 2021. With the time they’ve spent waiting to physically be back, the duo decided to do something that would change the landscape of Milwaukee music.
In the interview, I got a chance to find out a little bit more about their story, some of their influences that drove them to become DJs, and we talked about what was in store for their new Milwaukee music label, User Friendly Records. Peep the interview in full below and stay in touch with them about future gigs, mixes\ and releases at @userfriendlyrecords.
Our fall drive starts Oct. 5. But thanks to Radio Milwaukee Board Member Lacey Sadoff, who’s matching donations dollar for dollar, your gift today does twice as much to help us meet our goal so we can keep bringing you stories like these!
