Flannel Fest announces its lineup of music, food and goods

Festing is a year-round sport in Milwaukee. We fest in Summer. We fest in Mittens. We fest in Flannel. That last entry is newer to the block, having gotten its start in 2019, and it’s back this year with a freshly announced lineup for its two stages.

The family-friendly event is a joint hosting effort between Boone & Crockett and The Cooperage, filling the parking lot with food, music and goods from local vendors. Things get started with a pre-party at 6 p.m. Friday, Oct. 20, when The Cooperage will welcome The Keystones, Alley Eyes, Social Cig and Tigera. Tickets for that one are available online right now.

The main event is a non-ticketed affair that goes from noon until 10 p.m. the following day, Oct. 21. Sunflower Bean will headline the Main Stage, coming in from New York to bring all things rock (glam, psych, post-punk) to the proceedings. Twan Mack and Swadetracks will start the day, followed by Shoobie, NilexNile, REYNA and then the headliner to cap things off.

Over at the Folk Stage, Next Paperback Hero gets the leadoff spot, with Arum Rae, Ben Mulwana and The Hallelujah Ward rounding out the bill. That should be enough to get you lightly layered up and over to the festival, but we included the food and goods vendors below (with the potential of more to be added later) if you need a little more convincing.
