Packers among NFL celebs coming to cornhole event in New Berlin

American Cornhole League

You’d be hard-pressed to find an activity more open to people of all shapes, sizes and abilities than cornhole (or “bags” if you prefer). Of course, as soon as the tailgating favorite picked up enough steam, there was bound to be a professional version — an opportunity the American Cornhole League ran with and will showcase June 20-22 in New Berlin.

The three-day event is the third qualifier for SuperHole V and will feature plenty of cornhole pros, but it’s likely a different kind of professional who will attract crowds to OAW Indoor Sports Complex. Eight NFL players will pair with some of the best cornholers in the world, led by two from just up I-43 in Green Bay:

  • AJ Dillon, Packers (paired with ACL pro Samantha Finley)
  • Carrington Valentine, Packers (paired with ACL pro Quinn Reeves)
  • Bijan Robinson, Falcons (paired with ACL pro Ryan Smith)
  • Tyler Allgeier, Falcons (paired with ACL pro Jordan Power)
  • Cor’Dale Flott, Giants (paired with ACL pro Terry Mathis)
  • Jason Pinnock, Giants (paired with ACL pro Ethan Walker)
  • Braxton Jones, Bears (paired with ACL pro Daymon Dennis)
  • Tyrique Stevenson, Bears (paired with ACL pro Nico Mireles)

Those eight gentlemen from the gridiron will compete for a spot in the championship later this year and a share of at least $100,000. In addition, each player will create a set of limited-edition cornhole bags that will be available for purchase, with a minimum of 30% of the proceeds going to a charitable cause of their choosing.

The NFL showcase taking place at 7 p.m. this Saturday is a mere portion of the overall event, which starts with the ACL Pro Teams going at it on Thursday, an Open Cornhole Competition on Friday, and the Pro National Singles Final and Pro Women’s Singles at 4:15 p.m. Saturday.

For more information, including how to get tickets courtside and a complete schedule, visit the event page on the American Cornhole League website.
