Bay View Bash 2024: Music schedule, food and drink options, and more

There are many summer festivals in Milwaukee. But only ONE festival gets to be the last summer festival. This year (and many years), that honor goes to the Bay View Bash, which runs from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. this Saturday, Sept. 21, on Kinnickinnic Avenue between Potter and Clement.

For the record, the autumnal equinox is precisely at 7:44 a.m. the next day, or roughly four hours before the Packers and Titans start their exciting staring contest of “whose QB is a more effective game manger” that will end 13-6 or 15-9 or something like that. It might be a good idea, then, to inject as much excitement into your Saturday as possible. Fortunately, Bay View Bash has plenty of it on tap.

Speaking of on tap! Third Space Brewing has made a very special beverage for this year’s festival. The aptly named Bash Beer is a hoppy lager that will debut Saturday and send its proceeds to various nonprofit organizations in the 53207 ZIP code. So if you’re planning on drinking responsibly, send a few of your bucks in that direction to give back to the neighborhood.

While you’re sipping on your Bash Beer — or any of the other beverage options listed below — there are a few things to put your eyeballs on. One of them is the pet parade that starts at 11 a.m. from Rushmor Records. If you’re one of those people who think dressing up your pet in a costume isn’t an abomination and a practice that should be eradicated from the face of the Earth, you can head in that direction to see any number of four-legged friends wearing … I don’t know, frog outfits and whatnot. There are also prizes for the top three costumes and goodie bags for all participants.

If you want to get an early start, Bay View United Methodist Church at 2772 S. Kinnickinnic Ave. has an all-church rummage sale going from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Please keep in mind that because rummaging is a bloodsport in Wisconsin, you should arrive closer to 8 a.m. if you want a shot at any of the real prime offerings.

Our favorite part of the Bay View Bash, though, is the music. It’s another nice lineup this year, and you can find the whole thing below. We would like to point out a few favorites: Jinksie (12:45 p.m.) and Kia Rap Princess (6 p.m.) on the Milwaukee Record Stage; The Hallelujah Ward (3:35 p.m.) and Bug Moment (8:30 p.m.) on the Rushmor Records Stage; and the D&D-themed stylings of Fight Dice (6 p.m.) on the WMSE Stage.
