Got plans for September? Yes, next September. Like, nine months and three seasons from now. No? Good. With your calendar likely wide open, you’ve got room for the 2025 edition of the Tacos & Tequila Festival, a now-annual event that brings together throwback hip-hop and various Latin-inspired elements for one day of … so many things.
The one day for 2025 is Saturday, Sept. 13, and the location is Franklin Field at Ballpark Commons. That’s where you’ll find a performance lineup that leans into ’90s and 2000s hip-hop, including:
- Lil Jon
- Timbaland
- B.O.B.
- Trick Daddy
- Paul Wall
- Mike Jones
- Yung Joe
- DJ Ashton Martin
While tacos come first in the event’s name, it’s the second half that seems to get the most love from some of the enhancements being touted by organizers for year three of the festival. Among the improvements mentioned are more hand-crafted margaritas, bigger bars, a bigger VIP lounge, a tequila tasting lounge and new shot bars. And hopefully a large area outside the grounds for Uber and Lyft pick-ups.
Beyond that, attendees can expect food from some of Milwaukee’s top taco chefs, a salsa and queso competition, Lucho Libre wrestling, an exotic car showcase, a Chihuahua beauty pageant, art installations and photo opps.
Best of all, you don’t have to settle for just saving the date on your calendar. You can get tickets right now, starting with general admission for $49. There’s also a VIP option for $129 that includes front-of-stage access, express entry, a commemorative lanyard, access to the VIP lounge, three craft margaritas and a street taco flight. If you want to go beyond that level, you can also score a VIP table for between $1,000 (four people) and $5,000 (20 people).
Information on all the various ticketing options and the event in general — including a handy countdown clock — is available on the Tacos & Tequila website.
