Christian Yelich books Goo Goo Dolls for annual charity concert

For the second year, Milwaukee Brewers star Christian Yelich and his family will bring their Home Plate Charity Concert to the Pabst Theater, with a big hitter leading the music lineup.

Goo Goo Dolls — who played to a sold-out BMO Pavilion at last year’s Summerfest — will headline the event presented by American Family Insurance that’s scheduled for April 17. They’ll get support from fellow New York band Nicotine Dolls and comedian Charlie Berens, who will once again serve as host for the night’s proceedings.

“We’re honored to join Christian and his family again as presenting sponsor of this amazing event that not only celebrates Milwaukee, but assists organizations serving so many in the community,” American Family Insurance chief marketing officer Sherina Smith said in a release. “American Family believes in the power of dreams, and we know Christian does, too. We’re proud to have him on our team and support this charity event, and its lasting and positive impact.”

In addition to the music, local culinary star Adam Pawlak of Egg & Flour Pasta Bar will host an expansive food-and-drink experience for VIP attendees featuring some of the city’s top restaurants. That roster includes Egg & Flour, Blackshoe Hospitality, The Pabst, Birch, Sanford, LaDama, Heaven's Table BBQ, Modern Maki, Saint Kate Hotel, Discourse Coffee and Aggie's Bakery.

Last year’s event raised more than $300,000 for local charities, and the Yelich Family is looking to top that amount in 2025. If you want to help, tickets to the April 17 event start at $49.50 and are on sale now.
