Brewers get festive with Kids Club, Tinsel Taproom and more

Milwaukee Brewers; Barrel Yard

If you thought getting your house into the holiday spirit was difficult, imagine stringing lights across something with an 8.5-acre roof and walls more than 100 feet high. The Milwaukee Brewers aren’t about to try that with American Family Field, but they are offering a few festive elements to brighten up the season.

First up is the return of Kids Club memberships, which tend to find their way into little stockings this time of year. For $35, fans aged 14 and under get quite a haul, starting with a sackful of Brewers gear: a City Connect hoodie and wallet, drawstring bag, hat and lanyard with membership badge. Each member also receives six ticket vouchers they can redeem for select Brewers home games next season, as well as access to exclusive events:

  • Free tour of American Family Field
  • Early entry on select dates to watch batting practice
  • A Kids Crew Parade lap around the warning track prior to a designated game
  • Early registration and a $30 discount for Brewers Baseball Academy

For more information or to purchase a membership (do so by Dec. 16 to guarantee arrival before the holidays), visit the Kids Crew section of the Brewers website.

While you won’t find the exterior of AmFam Field all decked out for the holidays, there’s no shortage of decorations in the Tinsel Taproom — a holiday pop-up experience within J. Leinekugel’s Barrel Yard.

Within the cozy confines of a private taproom, up to eight guests get 90 minutes to enjoy a complimentary drink package, a view of the pilot brewery, and the option to add food and beverages from the Barrel Yard’s menu. Group reservations are $125 each and can be made via the Barrel Yard website.

Finally, the Brewers have lined up a few visits from Santa Claus over the next few weeks, including a chance to dine with (or at least near) the jolly old elf. Supper with Santa will take place from 5-7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 14, and includes an opportunity to meet and get a photo with the guest of honor, plus dinner and drink specials. The Brewers recommend making a reservation, which you can do via OpenTable.

Besides the food-centric event, Santa will make three more stops at the Barrel Yard in the month ahead: Dec. 3, 10 and 17. All three visits coincide with a Holiday Happy Hour that runs from 4 to 7 p.m. For more information on everything happening at the eatery within AmFam Field, go to the Barrel Yard website.
