Milwaukee
First concert:
I usually say Vampire Weekend at the BMO Pavilion when I was in early high school, but the honest answer is a High School Musical live concert at the Bradley Center when I was 9.
Hobbies:
Going to the movies, rock climbing, reading, finding the next great swimming spot, seeing live music (obviously).
Favorite place to take a visitor in Milwaukee:
Is it basic to say the Lakefront Colectivo? It’s a classic for a reason. Lakeshore State Park and Zócalo are top spots for sure.
Favorite band/artist of all time:
The collaboration between Khruangbin and Leon Bridges on the albums Texas Sun (2020) and Texas Moon (2022) lives rent free in my head. “Mariella” is a perfect song.
What about you would surprise people:
I’m good at darts, and I have the gene that makes cilantro taste like soap.
Comfort drink:
I can’t pass up a good chai latte — unless it’s a summer evening, then it’s got to be a radler. This is Wisconsin, after all.
