Position: Social Media Intern
Position Type: Semester internship, Minimum of 10 hours per week
Supervisor: Marketing Director
Start Date: Tuesday, September 7, 2021
End Date: Tentatively Friday, December 10, 2021; willing to adjust based on academic calendar
GENERAL FUNCTIONS:
The Social Media Intern is responsible for assisting in the growth and management of Radio Milwaukee’s social media platforms on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist with management of social media calendar that is representative of all ongoing Radio Milwaukee content, programming, events and fundraising efforts
- Maintain consistent presence on all platforms by posting and scheduling on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and LinkedIn
- Assist with social media planning for marketing campaigns around marquee Radio Milwaukee content, programming, events and fundraising efforts
- Brainstorm and create original content for our social media platforms
- Engage with social media followers by responding to messages, comments and replies
- Analyze the success of posts, campaigns and content through social media analytics
- Attend weekly content meeting
- Assist Marketing Director on paid campaigns to grow followers on all platforms
- Stay up to date on new social media features and trends
- Light administrative tasks and other duties as assigned
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Strong understanding of and passion for Radio Milwaukee’s brand and mission
- Excellent knowledge of social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and LinkedIn)
- Strong understanding of social media best practices and analytics
- Strong creativity and writing skills
- Ability to analyze social performance and make adjustments
- Ability to create and maintain organizational systems
- Ability to meet deadlines and work on multiple projects in a day
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Graphic design and photography experience a plus
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Junior or Senior working towards a Bachelors degree in marketing, communication, public relations or related area of study
- Ability to receive college credit for internship
- Previous social media internship experience is desirable
