Badger Band star signs first sponsorship deal with Kwik Trip

Wisconsin Marching Band mellophone player Will Hazeltine received an NIL deal from Kwik Trip.

Kwik Trip has rewarded a Wisconsin Badger who shows up and performs every Saturday at Camp Randall.

No, it's not a Badgers football player or even a member of the cheer squad. 21-year-old Will Hazeltine, a mellophone player in the UW Marching Band, landed the first college sponsorship deal in Kwik Trip history for his devotion to the gas station brand.

According to a release, Hazeltine loves “everything Kwik Trip" and drinks two to three cups of Karuba Gold coffee per day. He even has a spreadsheet ranking his favorite flavors.

The geological engineering major from Edgerton received the deal through NCAA's name, image, and likeness policy (NIL), which allows student-athletes to be compensated. Apparently Hazeltine made Kwik Trip a convincing argument that marching band qualifies as a sport, and thus a deal was struck. Hazeltine showed off his first batch of merch on TikTok.

In light of the new partnership, Kwik Trip has opened an NIL inquiry form for prospective student-athletes (or band members).
