HYFIN, Sugar Maple bring anime, music, sake together for Artistic Anarchy
Radio Milwaukee’s Tarik Moody is a font of knowledge in many different areas. Later this month, three of them will come together to create “Artistic Anarchy,” an event presented by HYFIN and the Sugar Maple on Saturday, May 27.
Moody — HYFIN’s program director — put a trio of passions at the crux of the evening: anime, beats and sake. The first one will be represented by local artists showcasing their anime-inspired artwork, as well as a costume contest with prizes for attendees sporting the best gear from their favorite anime characters.
As for the event’s other two featured elements, Moody will spin music throughout the night to complement the anime theme, while the Sugar Maple will do the same on the beverage front. In addition to its excellent lineup of craft beers, you'll have access to a curated selection of sake, sake-inspired cocktails and Japanese beer. Local businesses will also be on hand with some food options for attendees.
Tickets for “Artistic Anarchy: An Evening of Anime x Art x Beats x Sake" are available online right now for $10 and at the door that evening for $15. All proceeds support HYFIN, our public radio station that champions Black music and culture.
