If you requested an absentee ballot for this November's election, you've likely received it in the mail by now. There's still plenty of time to mail back those completed ballots, but with more people expected to vote absentee than ever this year, the city of Milwaukee is also offering secure ballot drop boxes for voters who would prefer to use them.
The 325-pound steel boxes are mounted in concrete and emptied by election commission staff daily, and voters can use them 24 hours a day seven days a week. They'll be open until 8 p.m. on election day.
