Whether you’re a serious Summerfest-goer or ignore it entirely, the annual event does have a role to play during the warm-weather season: a very loud reminder to get out of the house while the gettin’s good and shorts are an option. Milwaukee’s neighborhood festivals are a great outlet for channeling that urge, and one of the biggest just rolled out its music lineup for this year’s event.
Brady Street Festival on Tuesday announced 29 acts across five stages, two of which are new for 2023: The Lillipad inside Lilliput Records and the Nashville North Stage inside, you guessed it, Nashville North. The entertainment features a great mix of headliners on the three main stages, including soulful former Milwaukeean and current New Yorker Abby Jeanne, singer/rapper/producer Klassic, and the annual Brady Street Babes drag show.
Outside of music, the festival has sprinkled activities throughout the day to keep attendees of all ages engaged. We’re talking dog yoga, a new family-friendly Fun Zone adjacent to the Center Stage that includes superhero and princess photo opps, the Adventure Rock Wall and Casablanca Rumble Pro Wrestling.
If that’s still not enough, you’ll also have a current list of 85 vendors to visit as you traverse Brady Street. There are familiar neighborhood spots like Roman Coin and Glorioso’s, mobile eateries like Pete’s Pops and no fewer than three barbecue options, and more craft-oriented options featuring everything from paint to pottery.
