A few weeks ago, the James Beard Foundation announced semifinalists for its awards, including several Milwaukee nominees.
Today, the Foundation announced finalists for the awards. Milwaukee's Justin Carlisle of Ardent made the cut for Best Midwest Chef. Carlisle is also owner and chef of the popular Red Light Ramen.
The other finalists for Best Midwest Chef include:
Steven Brown from Tilia (Minneapolis)
Jorge Guzman from Brewer's Table (Minneapolis)
Kevin Nashan from Sidney Street Cafe (St. Louis)
Kevin Willman from Farmhaus (St. Louis)
Winners will be announced May 1 at the James Beard Awards Gala, to be held at the Lyric Opera of Chicago.
