On this week’s show, we talked about healthy bowls invading Milwaukee. We also discussed a vegan pop-up event happening during beer week at Third Space Brewing, and Flavors of Wisconsin - an event benefiting the American Liver Foundation.
Healthy bowls invade Milwaukee
There will be two new restaurants that will be serving healthy bowls. First, there was FreshFin Poke on the East Side that serves various bowls with tuna, salmon and vegetables. The first restaurant called'On The Bus' will be located in the Milwaukee Public Market.
'On The Bus' will over a variety of vegan and vegetarian bowls, sandwiches and more. The owner is a partner in the market's Green Kitchen. The new spot will be restoring a 1971 Volkswagen Bus that will be installed in market. They will be offering various items like acai and smoothie bowls, veggie burgers and sandwiches like Jamaican jerk tofu and a vegan Reuben.
The second spot will be called 'Bowls.' 'Bowls' is a new venture from The National's Nell Benton and Float Milwaukee's Andy Larson. 'Bowls' will serve a variety of items hot and cold like tuna poke, miso quinoa bowl and more.
Vegan Pop-Up during Milwaukee Beer Week
On April 28, Beatrix Foods will host a Vegan Pop-up during Milwaukee Beer week at Third Space Brewing from 6 pm - 8 pm. Beatrix will offer a menu that will be paired with Third Space Brewing beers. They will offer dishes like Buffalo Tofu Sliders, Seitan Sausage Rolls and more. Check out the full menu and pairings below.
Flavors of Wisconsin
On April 23 at the Pfister Hotel, a variety of Milwaukee chefs will be serving small plates for Flavors of Wisconsin.
Flavors is a culinary experience that goes beyond the traditional gala providing guests with the unique experience of having a top local chef prepare a multi-course dinner tableside. The evening showcases the signature dishes of our culinary experts and takes you beyond the usual restaurant fare.
