The only thing that competes with the adoptable cats at Sip & Purr Cat Café? The pastries

A local cat café with pastries from a restaurant we miss, rediscovering a unique spot with a secret menu you need to try and Milwaukee chefs' favorite cookbooks...

Each week on Radio Milwaukee, Milwaukee Magazine’s dining critic, Ann Christenson, and 88Nine’s foodie, Tarik Moody, discuss Milwaukee’s culinary and restaurant culture on This Bites. This Bites is supported by Society Insurance.

Read more and listen to the podcast below to hear us discuss the new article in Milwaukee Magazine about culinary adventures and inspiring cookbooks.

Sip & Purr

After the closing of Wolf Peach, you may be missing their desserts. But you can still enjoy baked goods from the pastry chef of the now defunct spot, at the new Sip & Purr on the East Side. It's a café serving breakfast, lunch, snacks and libations. The best part? You can book a reservation to cuddle adoptable cats! The café has found homes for over 100 felines in need.

Meraki

The Walker's Point restaurant Meraki has been around for a few years and has been reviewed, so we're doing something a little different. Ann shares her reasons you should rediscover the 2nd St. spot and how to go on their culinary adventure.

Milwaukee chefs choose their favorite cookbooks of 2018

Ann called up a number of her favorite Milwaukee chefs to find out what cookbooks have been inspiring them. Find out which cookbook your favorite chef chose and maybe you'll be inspired, too. Check it out in the most recent issue of Milwaukee Magazine.
