Later this month, Maranta Plant Shop will be home to a tostada food trailer. In a recent Milwaukee Magazine story, Maranta Plant Shop founders Michelle Alfaro and Mag Rodriguez will team up with Dominique Alvarado to open a food trailer specializing in tostadas. There will be chicken, pork and vegetarian options including a selection of freshly made agua frescas, like mango lime and vegan horchata. The trailer will be available outside the shop Wednesday through Sunday. You can follow the food trailer on Instagram at @tostadasmke
Pizza Friendly Pizza Pop-Up @ Ardent
Chicago's Pizza Friendly Pizza, which specializes in Sicilian-style pizza, will be hosting a pop-up at Ardent on August 8 from 4 p.m to 8 p.m. Pizzas will be sold in advance, and you can place an order via Ardent's website. Pizzas includes pepperoni, burrata basil pizza, sausage, caramelized and pickled fennel with white sauce; sun-dried tomato, pickled green tomato and black-garlic pesto.
