Wilco and Dr. Dog's official hats are made by this Milwaukee company

This week on Urban Spelunking we visit a prominent, four-building parcel on Milwaukee's East Side. Then, we head to a Milwaukee hat company that is loved by Wilco, Dr. Dog and more.

Discover new and old, past and future, in the podcast below.

G-Daddy's BBC has been closed for almost a year. Hotel Foster has been closed for almost two. These buildings (there's actually four of them) are prime real estate on North Ave. So, what's next for the complex and for one of the central parts of the East Side?

Part one of the podcast takes us to the former G. Daddy's BBC and Hotel Foster site, both of which have been closed for more than a year.

What's next for the sprawling, high profile corner property on North and Farwell Avenues?

Then, we head to the city's South Side to visit another longstanding Milwaukee retail anchor, the current home of Wisconsin Knitwear.

For decades, the building on 11th and Lincoln had been popular, family-owned furniture and music stores. Now it churns out handmade hats, made entirely in Milwaukee, by a third generation businessman.
