"Vel Phillips: Dream Big Dreams"

She was Milwaukee's first African American Alderwoman and Judge and she was Wisconsin's first black female Secretary of State.

Vel Phillips passed away nearly a year ago, but her legacy surely will live on for decades to come.

Coming up on Feb. 18, on what would have been her 96th birthday, Black Lens will screen "Vel Phillips: Dream Big Dreams," the definitive documentary on her life and legacy. The film begins at 6:30 p.m.
