This might be one of Milwaukee's oldest houses, and it's not where you might expect

When you envision one of Milwaukee's oldest homes, where would you expect to find it?

You might naturally assume it would be in one of the city's oldest neighborhoods, like Walker's Point or the Juneautown, but this home likely predates even them.

It's actually located near 84th and Lisbon Ave., and it's unclear exactly how old the former farmhouse is. Turns out, you can't exactly trust the recordkeeping at the time, so pinpointing an exact date isn't possible. But estimates place the home in the 1840s, possibly even earlier.

The home made news locally because it was just listed for sale. After a few days on the market, it is now under contract, meaning whoever snagged it will own a piece of Milwaukee history.
