Milwaukee's Bronze Box curates Black-made products from all over the Midwest

Bronze Box - Black-owned businesses in Midwest

There has been a racial reckoning in the country since the death of George Floyd. There have been initiatives, corporations focusing on racial justice and equity including movements to support Black-owned businesses. Even with that support, Covid-19 nearly destroyed half of the Black small businesses in the country. However, one new Milwaukee company called Bronze Box aims to help some of these small Black-owned businesses here and throughout the Midwest.

Melanin Poppin' gift box

Founded by Milwaukee couple Paul and Mazie Wellington, Bronze Box aims to support Midwest Black-owned businesses with curated gift boxes. Paul is also the co-founder of MKE Black, a directory of Black-owned businesses and services in the Milwaukee area.

Bronze Box offers a variety of different boxes and even a subscription service and 20% of all profits are donated to MKE Black. You will find products from Wisconsin, Illinois, Ohio and Iowa.

Here are some of the boxes you can order.

Bricks 'n Books

You can also get a different box each month with Bronze Box's subscription service. Each month, you will receive a box filled with a variety of unique products from across the Midwest. Boxes will include at least one food, drink and wellness item.

Boxes can be picked up in Milwaukee or shipped to you. Visit Bronze Box's website for all the details.
