We close Black History Month with an African-American word quilt
For the past month we’ve been diving into the legacies of Black artists in theater through Milwaukee Repertory Theater’s Black History Month series “We Rise.”
To close out Black History Month, we’re sharing a bit of Rajendra Maharaj’s “Rise: An African-Amerian Word Quilt.” Rajendra says the piece “speaks to what it means be an African-American theater artist today.”
It’s performed by some of Milwaukee’s own Black theater artists. Here’s “Rise.”
