For the past month we’ve been diving into the legacies of Black artists in theater through Milwaukee Repertory Theater’s Black History Month series “We Rise.”
We’ve looked at legends like Lorraine Hansberry and August Wilson and have sat in on conversations with Milwaukee’s Black theater artists.
To close out Black History Month, we’re sharing a bit of Rajendra Maharaj’s “Rise: An African-Amerian Word Quilt.” Rajendra says the piece “speaks to what it means be an African-American theater artist today.”
