How Falcon Bowl became such a well-loved Riverwest institution

This week on Urban Spelunking, we're talking about the beloved Falcon Bowl, a Riverwest tavern and bowling alley, which was recently listed for sale.

That listing has been removed from the realtor's website (not surprising with how quickly things have been moving in the real estate market this summer), so OnMilwaukee's Bobby Tanzilo and I are taking this opportunity to remember its rich history in Milwaukee, which dates to 1882.

In this podcast episode, we talk about the namesake fraternal organization, the Polish Falcons of America, that provided mutual aid to Polish communities around the country including in Milwaukee, the unique design of the bar and the role Falcon Bowl has played in Riverwest for decades. Listen to the audio below, and be sure to visit OnMilwaukee for even more photos and history.
